Jan Kaufman was born in Portland, Oregon but  has lived in San Diego for the majority of her life.  She attended Oregon State University as an undergraduate and defected to University of Oregon for law school. She is admitted to practice law in California and Oregon.. 

For over 20 years, Jan provided legal services to Oakley, Inc. Over the years, she handled litigation, managed the Oakley trademark portfolio and handled the majority of Oakley’s business transactional work. She drafted and reviewed contracts for all aspects of Oakley’s business. She worked closely with the Oakley sports marketing department reviewing countless athlete contracts and negotiating terms with athletes’ agents.

 

Since 2010, Jan has had her own private practice, specializing in trademarks and providing advice and other services to small  and medium sized businesses and athletes. She represents several apparel brands, eyewear brands as well as other types of businesses.  She also represents athletes and can help them navigate their contractual obligations, Her vast experience makes her an invaluable advisor.  Her personal passion for engaging in action sports has made her involvement with action sports brands very rewarding.
